My first guests just left. They were a very sweet French couple from Nimes who were visiting to attend a dog show at the Château Le Haget, a nearby camping site/hotel/sometimes restaurent in a gorgrous 17th cenutry château on 12 hectares of beautiful hiking grounds.
If all of my future guests are as polite, I will be a very happy camper! :) Even their hunting dog, which I identified as a Saint-Usuge Spaniel who's competing in the show today was polite and he played very nicely with Modjeska. They checked in around 15h yesterday, enjoyed a swim, took a walk to the lake and then left to attend a dinner at the château. This morning, I prepared a light breakfast of bread, fig jam, yoghurts and coffee. They enjoyed it on the back porch, and then sharply at 8h they left. I entered the bedroom to see that the the room was left immaculate - and the most incredible thing to find that between them both used only one towel. I hope to learn by example and leave such an impression on future hosts for my next travel adventure.
